Cool! Now if I could just get Facebook to cease and desist from its random Discipline and Punish program. They've kicked me off twice.

OK I know I promised to reply on this earlier in the week. Anyhow the landscape is being changed. The question is how much difference this will make. Bord Gais created one firestorm with its loss of customers data and shut off its Twitter account at the same time refusing to engage. It doesn't appear to have seriously damaged the number of subscribers because of the power assymetry. An open view of things helps but its not the cure all you might think. Step in the right direction rather than a cure.

Hi Patrick, two really good examples there. It shows that being 'watched' all the time isn't a bad thing and is actually a great opportunity for companies to show us what they're made of!

Very good post, I think the case can be really seen with You Tube

On the bad side, where the employee of Dominos post the video clips of them and some pizza bits...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhBmWxQpedI

Then there is the positive side, we have all seen the coke and mints video or the best one “Will it blend it”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qg1ckCkm8YI

So the idea that companies can just ignore social media is gone
