Twitter traffic has been growing for a couple of years like crazy but October 2009 has seen it drop for the first time and it comes hot on the heels of further bad news with Stephen Fry claiming that he has quit the service. The traffic reports comes from a variey of online services including compete, Quantcast, Alexa and Hitwise who all measure traffic online and although this is only traffic that reaches the Twitter website directly and doesn't include 3rd party apps such as Tweetdeck and Seesmic it does give a good overall indication of where things are headed.
