Simply Zesty ChristmasThere is wrapping paper everywhere, children with happy faces and I am of course in the thick of the action in the kitchen. People have just come back from mass and there is a nice dusting of snow over here in Belgium for a lovely white Christmas. This is the one day of the year where laptops are very much off, iPhones are dead and this post was scheduled last night. There will be no status updates, no Tweets, no checkins on Foursquare or no replies to emails.

It’s been a long hard year for us as a start up but we have grown faster than we could have ever hoped for. There were long nights and early starts, tears and shouting, times of worry and sleepless nights, growing pains, big dreams and lots of fun for the past 6 months. Time off was at a premium and our bodies and minds feel as if they have been through the mill.

Nobody is complaining though because having your own business is one of the most exciting and rewarding adventures you will ever take on. It’s scary and lonely at times but you always find a way through all the mess and hectic scrambling and when you wake up in the morning no salary could replace that extra spring you have in your step.

The thing that keeps myself and Lauren going at all times is this blog. We sometimes only get around to writing blog posts at 2 in the morning and sometimes it literally nearly kills us and our lives would be an awful lot easier if we didn’t have to write a daily blog on top of running a start up but nothing puts a bigger smile on our faces than the comments and emails we get from people saying thanks for helping them or sharing information.

Wouldn’t Be Possible Without You Guys

So thanks to all nearly 2000 of you who have taken the time to leave a comment or voice your opinion, we read every single one and try to reply to them all as well. Thanks for the emails, the Re Tweets, the links and the shares without all of you guys this blog would not exist and you are the reason why we spend on average 16 hours of our week writing the articles you see here.

We’ll be back as normal tomorrow but for now it’s all about the Turkey and washing it down with something nice. There won’t be any tweeting or facebooking from us today at all but we will be raising our glasses to all of you readers for giving us a great first 6 months on the blog.

Have a good one :)
