Simply ZesTee T-Shirt Competition – Win 250 Euros
Like it? Tell your friends!
We always try and think a little differently as a company so with that in mind we thought it would be pretty cool to have a little competition to crowd source the design of our new Simply Zesty T Shirts and Hoodies. We want to do something different and have T Shirts and Hoodies that people will actually wear rather than something plain with our logo on them. A fashion statement if you will. We are not really a suit and tie company and the dress sense is very much casual around the office.

So what do we want you guys to do? Well basically get creative and come up with our new designs that will form a key part of the branding of the company and be seen by many. As a small incentive we will be giving the winner a 250 Euro prize but the big incentive is that we will be promoting the winning designer through all of our channels and letting the world know about your work by carrying it around on our backs. We want something fresh, funky, edgy and different. Feel free to include our logo or colors but it certainly doesn’t need to be a main feature. Maybe the T shirt is just a slogan? Maybe an innovative way of getting our URL in there? Maybe it’s back to front? We do things differently so go to town on your designs
How To Enter
The closing date for the competition is the 30th June so you have 2 weeks to get your thinking caps on. We’ll be judging the competition ourselves and the good news is that you’ll also get 3 of T-Shirts yourself to keep. So to enter…
1. Create your design at hi-res (300dpi) in CMYK format ( as it will be printed onto t shirts)
2. Layer the design onto the t-shirt template and then upload that as an image to Flickr.. The t-shirt image should be saved for web (RGB) at 72dpi and the t-shirt template attached should not be altered in size.
3.Upload the image to the following group on Flickr.

Hey guys,
I’ve had a go, I hope you like it. It’s a bit recursive, as they say in computer science.

I really really hope there are some more entries cause If I have to wear that around there will be trouble
Hey Niall, what does that actually get me? I know you do a lot of online PR for companies and while it’s flattering to be talked about online on your facebook, twitter and blog, how will that help me?
Surely you’d say “this was designed by Darragh, isn’t it great?” – other people would look at that and say “Hey Darragh, you did that for Simply Zesty for €250, will you do the same for us?”
Just something I’m curious about – what value you put on that yourself.
Best way to answer this is by asking somebody like Sean O who designed our website about the business he gets off the back of this site. A very subtle link down the bottom of this page has brought in countless leads for him. The winning designer might like to do something funky like put a little designed by Darragh Doyle around the sleeve in subtle letters for example. It’s about being creative rather than thinking about X number of people seeing it on Facebook. If I was a designer and wanted to get my work prfiled I’d def be entering this and the mney would be a little bonus TBH. I think designers will figure out themselves if it is worth answering or not
I’ll ask Sean that, so. I’d really be interested in finding this out.
Just in terms of completeness here, I asked Sean and he says that most of his work comes from that link/referral. As I said, interesting stuff!
Darragh appreciate the honesty and taking the time to come back and post that. Hopefully it’ll be as lucrative a showcase for a designer and they can look past the monetary side of things
TBH Darragh, I have no idea how wealthy you may be, but if I was asked by 4 people a month to design up a tshirt for them at €250 a pop as a sideline, I would be delighted with €1000 extra a month. Money is tight for a lot of folk these days and €250, while maybe not what a designer would charge, coming into my hands would be lovely.
Hmmm, John, you know me, very wealthy. And cynical. And eager to see people getting a fair deal and not be taken advantage of by having something shiny waved in front of them. Oh, and honest and up-front about what I like and don’t like and why.
But yes, I get your point. Good luck with the t-shirt design business!
Cheers dude already (even though I have not designed one yet) I already have 7 orders in, just based on my comment alone! iPad here I come, actually 3 iPads!!!
Honestly though people should have enough cop on to decide if they need €250 or not, it has nothing to do with being taken advantage of. I am not a designer yet I have been given a chance to win here, fair enough probably wont happen cause some designers will enter, but its a chance of getting some cash that normally would not come my way. I think its a great idea, and people IMHO are old enough and wise enough to decide if they want to enter or not.
Anyhow I must design up this t-shirt now for some big corporate company in the fruit business I think, god the jobs are flying in!
“A very subtle link down the bottom of this page has brought in countless leads for him”
It’ll be a clever designer that can integrate hyperlinks into a hoodie.
Not just hyperlinks. I get asked at least 3 or 4 times a week who built our site cause they love it and give them his email. Word of mouth does work offline too
Get your geek on, an led scrolling tshirt – “I ? Simply Zesty”. A subtle option
.
? was meant to be a heart but ascii fail.
Not sure we can stretch to LED displays Joe, but I like your style!
Hi there!
As already mentioned in my email I would suggest a couple of T-Shirts using your simply Z brand with different endings and pictures. Plus your url on the collar on the back!
