Twitter Revenge On Techcrunch For Leaked Documents





So You would think as Twitter as a pretty friendly media friendly company right? They have been getting the rub of the green with media coverage for the last year but the bigger you get the more people fancy having a go at you. So the following graphs (which I spotted here) reveal some pretty interesting information about how Twitter reacted to Techcrunch stealing leaking some of their documents. It all revolves around the suggested user list which features over 500 of the most popular users on twitter which Twitter suggests to new users as they sign up for a new account. The growth has been fast and steady for one of the most popular blogs in the world and has added tons of extra traffic to their site. Now lets look at Techcrunch’s similar graph. They were also on the same suggested user list and enjoying a massive rise in followers until around the time they posted the Twitter documents…

Could be the biggest case of chance in the world but when you take into account that the documents were published around the 15th of July you have to wonder. It is only normal for Twitter to defend their turf but they should watch out as they have traded mainly on good press up until now and they don’t want that tide to turn. Revenge is sweet though :)
