Rupert Murdoch blasts Google as ‘piracy leader’ in Twitter rant
Despite having only been on Twitter since the start of this year, Rupert Murdoch is fast becoming one of the most controversial high profile users on there. Having first caused a stir when he took aim at the British for excessive holidays, he’s now taken things a step further by accusing Google of being a piracy leader, effectively supporting free streaming of films by indexing links where you can watch them for free :
President Obama was also caught in the accusations, for supporting Silicon Valley :

The comments leveled against Obama come as he appears to walk a thin line between supporting Hollywood and supporting freedom of expression on the internet. The statement from the White House showed that they were aiming for a compromise in the heated debate around SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act), while actual legislation is yet to be revealed.
The comments from Murdoch will see the debate enter a new stage, as one of the most influential individual in the media has now thrown his hat into the ring.
