Company blog not updated recently.

If you care so little about your company or your industry in general that the last update was about an award you received 3 months ago and you never update that tells me you built a blog just for the sake of it, just so as you could say you had one.

Facebook page just spewing out RSS updates

Don’t build a Facebook page and ask all your 300 friends to become a fan only to bombard them with an automated chain of links to your site. This is actually doing more harm than good and just screams of laziness.

Rubbish Twitter Profile

If you have a twitter profile that has been recently set up and follows a few hundred with only a couple of people following you in return it tells me you are just looking for followers. If on top of that you are just sending out links to your “special offers” and haven’t tweeted in about a week I will probably head off elsewhere to find what I was searching for.

I always tell people that they are better having no profiles at all rather than throwing something up just for the sake of it and then abandoning that strategy after a week when there have been no sales. You need to realize that your blog, Facebook and Twitter pages will rank very highly on Google and people will be stopping off on these pages as the first port of call when checking out your business. People find stuff online these days so make sure you keep your virtual appearances up online and keep stuff fresh and interesting. Go and freshen yours up now
