In case you had missed it and hadn’t heard all the buzz Lance Armstrong has just announced that he will be meeting his fans for an impromptu bike ride around the Phoenix Park this evening at 17.30. Last week Armstrong did the same in Scotland where a couple of hundred people turned up and had the time of their lives riding with the 7 time Tour De France winner and all round living legend. Armstrong is here for the Livestrong Cancer conference in the RDS and has used social media to great effect to raise awareness of his campaign. I will be attending the cycle as I am a keen cyclist and will bring video camera along to catch what should be a marvelous occasion and what is a great real world use of Twitter. The only questions that remains is will the phoenix park be big enough to hold all the fans that turn out to see the champ? Below is the tweet that Lance sent out this morning…
