Mostly it's due to a lack of knowledge but there are a growing number of people getting involved. Labour (@labour) and the Greens (@greenparty_ie) are active enough, and i've seen some of the political parties starting to engage with social media in regards to the Lisbon Treaty in the last week as the vote nears.
