Agency Eats Sweets Based On Tweets – Haven’t We Seen This Before?

You may remember in the middle of last year, Irish agency Brando launched a campaign that rewarded their staff with sweets every time people mentioned #TweetSweets on Twitter. It was an incredibly smart campaign that engaged users and showed just how creative the agency was to prospective and existing clients.

Now another agency in the UK called Uniform has launched a similar campaign called Sweet Tweet which rewards the agency workers with a gum ball that is released down a complicated chute. This happens every time the agency is sent an @reply on Twitter although the scheme does have it drawbacks according to this post. If Uniform have “borrowed” the idea from Brando then it shows a serious lack of creativity on their behalf, and you can’t tell me it’s an original idea because they are just way too close in concept to be unique.

The Twitter Sweet Rip Off

The idea is so similar to the one that Brando released with even the name being identical that you do have to wonder if it was copied. The video shows the gum ball on its little journey down to a desk after it is released by an @reply to the agency on Twitter.

The Original

We featured the original campaign called #TweetSweets last year when Irish agency Brando came up with the brilliant idea of stuffing their faces with sweets based on tweets being sent in by the general public. I still think theirs was better anyway as it showed a human side to the staff and got lots of people involved for the day and engaging with the agency in a unique and innovative way.
