2 Girls Say…”Hire Us Or We Will Get Married” In Brilliant Social Media Campaign

When a couple of budding creatives wanted to get hired in New York recently, they didn’t go down the traditional route; instead focusing all their energy on an innovative campaign which declared: “Hire us or we’ll marry each other”. The two girls had become friends over the summer and formed a great team, but poor old Charli came from Germany and with her visa about to run out, they hatched a cunning plan.

They gave themselves a month to get hired by an agency, or else they would go out and get married to each other. The campaign got tons of attention online, including blog coverage, over 10,000 new Facebook likes for the happy new “couple”, and they promoted it further with wedding invites to creative directors and Foursquare tips left at every agency in New York.

The good news is that the girls did indeed get hired in the end as freelancers so all their creative work paid off! It is great to see a story like this, and you can imagine that the two girls are putting together similar smart strategies for large brands now. Hats off to them.
