Path Doubles Its User Base To 2 Million In Only 2 Months
Since its relaunch two months ago, the social media app Path has clearly grown in popularity after its upgrade. In the two months since it relaunched, the app has attracted a million new users, roughly the same amount it accumulated in its first year of existence.
According to AllThingsD, the CEO of Path Dave Morin said that over 50 million items of content have been created by Path users and that 70% of people who use Path in a week would return the next week. Regards geographical location, the U.S. is predictably the most popular country for Path users, eclipsing every other country, while other fast growing countries include the U.K., Germany, Korea, France and Japan.
The most common types of content shared on Path are photos, ‘thoughts’ which are effectively another word for status updates, and sleep records, where users can manually note when they power down for the night and when they wake up.
Morin also stated that over half a billion pieces of ‘feedback’ has been created since Path creation. While ‘feedback’ refers to any time a user looks at content on the app, but for frame of reference, there are 15 million pieces of feedback created on Path per day now, against the 10 million total created in the first year.
