Agency Uses Agressive Foursquare Campaign To Recruit Staff
An agency in Belgium who want to move in to the digital world have launched a campaign using Foursquare to recruit top staff from rival agencies and at the same time raise brand awareness. Euro RSCG were a more traditional agency and in their attempts to make themselves more visible to the digital community they set out with the task of checking in to 43 of their rival’s offices and every single day until they become mayor of that location on Foursquare. Incredibly they seem to have driven around the entire country every single day to do this manually using their agency profile. As soon as they had become mayor of all 43 locations they were able to start releasing tips on to those pages with links to their recruitment page and encouraging the talent in other agencies to come and work for them. It’s a pretty aggressive piece of marketing and the one big concern I would have is just how well it worked given that Foursquare would not exactly be mainstream in Belgium. Having said that if Foursquare is popular with one niche then it is technically minded marketing people and you’ll often find at least one person from each agency checking in to their own offices. Even if the campaign didn’t succeed in attracting all the best staff I have a feeling that this video will be pick up on blogs all over the world over the next couple of days raising awarness of Euro RSCG even further so it’s probably paid off. What do you think? Would Foursquare recruitment actually work?
