Google’s going Google again
Google have announced they are to increase their google apps advertising initiative ‘Going Google’. The ad campaign has previously run in the U.S. but Google CEO Eric Schmidt has just announced plans to bring it overseas, including to the UK.
The campaign will feature ads in newspapers, online Google ads as well as billboards in airports and train stations. It is being designed to lure business away from Google Apps competitors such as Microsoft. The campaign will promote Google’s cloud based email and office document services, as they recognise the huge potential in the market.
The ‘Going Google’ campaign was introduced in August this year, with daily changing billboards promoting the service

When a company like Google makes a serious foray into offline advertising, it’s definitely a move to watch with interest. It seems that Google aren’t the only search engine on a promotional blitz at the moment. Microsfots’ Bing have just announced they are to be title sponsors at the Gravity Summit in NYC. This comes at the same that Bing is pushing it’s promotion in China, with the launch of a new mobile based platform that demonstrates how to access hotmail on your mobile. Guess the gloves (and caps on ad budget) are coming off.
