How To Make Sure Facebook Displays Your Real Email Address
While it was announced back in April, Facebook has changed all users Facebook email addresses to @facebook.com. What you may not have noticed, however, is that not only has Facebook done this, but used it to replace whatever email you had displayed on your page originally. Naturally enough, there were people annoyed with this, but the good news is that you can change it back to normal very quickly, provided you don’t want to stick with Facebook’s email offering.
First of all, go onto your profile page and click on ‘About’. You will find it located just underneath your profile photo.
Once you’ve done that, you will see that your personal information is broken up into different sections. What you’re looking for is ‘Contact info’ which is located on the right-hand side underneath ‘Basic info’. Click on ‘edit,’ located on the top right hand corner of the box.
The first thing you will see are your emails. Alongside their privacy settings, you can choose if you want your email addresses to be visible on your profile or not. Currently, it’s just your @facebook.com address that’s visible so click on the icon beside privacy, select which email addresses you want to hide or make visible and click save at the bottom.
And now your email settings are saved so once you go back to your profile page, you will see that it’s back to normal.
