Creepy Facebook App gives you a taste of Alzheimers

We’re always seeing Facebook being used in innovative ways, to create new experiences and raise awareness. This is one of the best executions I’ve seen however, to raise awareness for a disease and create a very real, chilling experience. The app is called ‘Sort Me Out’ and is intended to give the user a first hand experience of what it’s like to suffer from Alzheimers. Through the app, information on your Facebook profile is steadily deleted, as if your real memories were being eroded.

The app starts by deleting your friends :

Then deletes your photos :

Until steadily the majority of your Facebook profile is gone, leaving you with an understanding of what it must be like to have your actual memories ‘deleted’, losing your connections and friends. The good thing about this app is that it’s also incredibly accessible. Little to no effort is required on behalf of the user. You simply go to the site and the experience begins in front of your site.
