I have been noticing that social media is just getting noiser over the last 6 months and that there is a massive problem with trying to filter out some of that noise and find the really good content that matters. I wanted to look at some of the problems that are causing that noise and see what the solutions could be. One of the biggest problems we have with E Books is that they are mostly rubbish and thrown together with a view to increasing traffic or conversions on a site but we wanted to create something a little better than normal that would really stand out and add some value to the people reading it.

Now it may not be the sexiest side of all things social media, but the question of whether older people (we’re talking around 65+ here) really use the internet for anything other than email gets asked more than you might think. The silver surfer market is still a valuable one for many brands, but it’s not touched upon all that frequently. I personally believe that it’s an interesting topic that should be discussed more and that this mature market should feature more heavily in online marketing plans. According to a recent survey from Pew, 38% of U.S. adults aged 65+ now go online. Clearly this isn’t a majority share, at around 4 in 10 but I think it’s incredibly impressive given the fast pace with which you have to adapt to new technology today…..

I have a simple request for the powers that be at Facebook…please put the people who designed and built your iPhone application in touch with the people who build your website. I use Facebook on a regular basis for work and clients and I have to say I find i an incredibly frustrating experience at times on the web. In contrast when I use it on my iPhone it is one of the most enjoyable experiences and I can navigate to the places I want to be and achieve the tasks I want to accomplish in a matter of seconds. We spend most of our time on the go these days and people are busy, accessing the internet on the go is a key strand of social media….
