I will be honest, your 7 steps for growing a blog is nothing new floating around the net, but they way you lay them out and the ease of reading truly made the difference. Nice work! I like what you said about commenting, I actually found this page from a comment you left over at the Passive Income Experiments page, so this comment is proof that it works!

Pauline there is a good amount of stuff that you can learn online, all of it actually. There are 100s of resources and tutorials that will teach you every single element of blogging but I guess it all comes down to time. If I am advising people doing it fo business I usually tell them to get the basics from a pro and get a nicely designed simple blog and they can then manage it themselves going forward and spend their time writing and creating great content. The last thing you want to be doing is spending hours on the technical elements of your website.

No worries at all Walter. Facebook is not going to send you massive amounts of traffic from the start but what it will do is help you build a bit of audience at the start and really get your content in front of a core group of people to get you started anyway

Yeah have done a couple of posts about offline media and it is quite imortant and gve you a boost naturally. Here is a handy one I wrote a while ago about getting media coverage. Great info again…..thanks. Perhaps surfing could be added to Lauren’s list of “Stuff people in new media like” Also, would like to know more about the pro option as in how to choose? prices? Is it best to do courses and learn yourself or if not a techie at all or just don’t have an interest in that side of social media, are you better getting someone to work with to do that end of things.Pauline

Really good post, this raises some interesting and vital points. You are obviously a big fan of offline media, or normal life as some call it! lol, anyone yeah your use of newspapers etc obviously really helps you, have you done a post about using off line media?

Yeah they really are the only things to stick to. The thing that puts most people off is that they take a lot of time and effort to get anywhere! The good news is that if you have a lot of time and are willing to put in the effort you will be rewarded!
