Lance Armstrong’s cycle through Phoenix Park, Dublin – Photos
This evening Lance Armstrong went for a bike ride through Dublin’s Phoenix Park – thanks to Twitter he had over 3,000 people to join him.
Through his innovative use of social media Lance Armstrong brought Dublin city centre to a standstill, with roads blocked off and Gardai scattered throughout Phoenix Park. There was a media frenzy awaiting his arrival, as the event gathered regional and national coverage.
We jumped on our SZ bikes and made our way down and were stunned at the pulling power Lance had. Every major TV station had a presence along with a gaggle of photographers and even Paddy Power had sent along a few mascots for good measure.
This form of impromptu bike ride may need to be looked at in the future as word spreads however as the first one Lance did last week attracted 300 people but the numbers would appear to have increased 10 fold in a week and the police and authorities may need a little extra notice in the future. All in all though a great win for social media and the sun even came out which Irish people will tell you was even more of a surprise!

Lance just got back to his hotel and it looks like her had a really good time out and about in Dublin, cheers for the great expereince Lance.
