Two exciting announcements for Winter Camp

Preparations for Winter Camp are well under way now and we’ve got not one, but two announcements!

Top Googler Don O’Leary joins the lineup

Don is the head of online sales and operations at Google EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Don’s previous role in Google involved growing the company’s first Irish based Software Engineering team. Prior to Google, Don developed software for several start-up companies in Silicon Valley, including e-commerce pioneer Commerce One. Before this, Don worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aerospace industry in Los Angeles. His work with organisations such as NASA, JPL and the US Navy led to patent awards in the area of magnetic levitation. On top of his work at Google, in his spare time he develops applications for the Android mobile platform. Don will be talking about the future of search and search advertising at Google.

Introducing the Winter Camp Avatar Stand

We’re very pleased to announce that the super-talented photographer Phil O’Kane (who did all the photography on our site) will be joining us for our first ever Avatar stand at the conference. Phil will be taking professional standard photos that you can use for your Twitter avatar, LinkedIn, Facebook – pretty much anywhere you want! Phil isn’t your average photographer and is certainly a favourite among the Irish social media scene. You can understand why, when you can see what he can do with a simple white background :

Phil will be running the stand throughout the conference and we’ll send you your image so you can use it wherever you want. Participation is not compulsory of course, but highly recommended!
