Domino’s Harnesses Social Media Community Feedback With ‘Think Oven’
The problem faced by many companies and brands is that while they have numerous fans and followers, they never really listen to what they have to say. Sure they sometimes do crowd sourcing campaigns where they ask them for ideas, but the questions asked are normally limited to a specific concept, and any ideas brought up outside this are rarely considered or listened to.
One brand that has regularly listened to both its fans and employees is the pizza chain Domino’s. Most of their ideas for products and concepts have come from store staff instead of marketers and those at the top. So they’ve created a new campaign which aims to harness their community called ‘Think Oven’ a Facebook app which let fans suggest and influence ideas for how the brand functions. The ideas can cover any area of the business such as products, consumer interaction, online presence or quality of service.
The two main features of ‘Think Oven’ are projects, where fans can suggest projects and suggest ideas for the best ideas and ‘idea box’ where users can suggest any improvements or submit ideas that they would love to see. Of course, those with the best ideas or suggestions for Donimo’s projects will be rewarded for their efforts with cash prizes given out to the best written and visual ideas. It looks like the campaign is one for the long haul and as Donimo’s have come up with similar interactive campaigns, it looks like this will be another one that will engage fans and get the best out of both worlds. The campaign was created by CP+B who are based in Miami, Florida.
