Apple About To Embrace Social Media?
Apple are one of the coolest companies in the world and they sure know how to market themselves and whip up a buzz around their products but their use of social media has been limited relying mostly on their customers, bloggers and the press to drive the frenzy online. Well all that could be about to change today when an Apple event kicks off in the USA (possibly featuring Steve Jobs)…
Everybody has a different prediction with what is going to be unveiled by Apple with bloggers speculating on everything from the Apple tablet (will probably land in January) to new iterations of the iPhone so we thought we would throw our hat in the ring and add the 2 things that we think Apple are about to launch and both are very socially driven….
New iPods With Built In Cameras
There will 100% be some sort of new camera on a new range of iPods as Apple phase out the older versions of their music players but wouldn’t it be really cool if those cameras automatically synced those photos to the web? It probably won’t be through sites like Flickr but you we predict that you will automatically be able to access the photos online after taking them on a new generation iPod. Uploading our photos manually is a real pain in the ass and if at all possible it would be great if that step of the process could be removed at replaced with a one click solution which sounds like the sort of thing Apple would do!
iTunes In The Cloud
We all loved iTunes when it launched as it was way ahead of it’s time and had an incredible user experience but we all have to admit that it is feeling a ittle tired and jaded at this stage. With services like the very cool spotify starting to steal some of Apple’s thunder you can be sure that a massive upgrade is about to launch today. Apple wouldn’t launch a service like putting iTunes online without adding in a whole host of sharing options and social features would they? The only big fear that Apple would have here would be disrupting a service that is already a massive cash cow for them. Music works incredibly well with social media and it will be interesting to see just how and if Apple can marry the two or if they keep the status Quo.
Do you think these predictions are accurate or wide of the mark? What do you think Apple will launch today?
