When Twitter Meets Klout - Are You A Klouchebag?

A new service called called Klouchebag is getting tons of buzz online today as a quirky little mash up between Twitter and Klout. As regular readers of the blog will know, I am not Klout's biggest fan and have called it a bullshit metric in the past so I absolutely love to see something like this coming along. It's clearly not a serious service like Klout which measures a bunch of social networks in an attempt to measure your online influence, but Klouchebag only measures "how much of an asshat you are on Twitter". The real beauty of this tool is that rather than trying to get a high number, it works in reverse with the lower the score you get the less of a douchebag you are.

The part I love the most about the service is in the FAQ's explaining the site where the founder says has this to say to the question "but isn't my Klout score is important?"

No it's not. It's like search engine optimisation, only for yourself. Ignore it. Concentrate on making amazing things, caring about the people around you, and not being a douchebag. If you do that, then you'll soon realise that it doesn't matter one jot what an algorithm thinks of you.

So head on over there and give it a go yourself and see how much of an asshat you are. I really don't think they could have come up with a better way of highlighting what a stupid and pointless service Klout actually is than this. Brilliant. Although I must say I am a little worried about my rather high score!
