Foursquare seems to be popping up more and more lately, with product news such as search ads showing that this platform might not be over just yet. More brands are also starting to use the app in campaigns again, and Fulham FC are the latest to do this, taking on a checkin challenge today. Following the introduction of Foursquare into the official club social media channels, they're celebrating by attempting to get a Super Swarm Badge, which will require 250 checkins by fans at the clubs ground - Craven Cottage.

The club have promised there will be rewards for fans if the badge is achieved, and they are running other promotions alongside on Foursquare such as ticket and merchandise giveaways. The mass checkin will be attempted at today's game against Wigan, which kicks off at 3pm GMT

The obvious question is whether this is really possible, or if 250 checkins is too much of an ask for what is still a very niche platform. It will also be an interesting test to see the type of people using Foursquare. While something like this might usually be reserved for tech conferences, this sees an attempt to bring Foursquare (again) into the mainstream and it will be an interesting test of the variety of users of the app, or location services overall. Though the club will have heavy promotion in the ground to promote the checkin, whether the incentive is enough for people to download and use the app while they're at a football game will be proven by 3:00 today....
